An obituary is usually the last mark a person can leave behind. Often times, this important notice is left for grieving family members, or funeral directors, to write –who may not know what their loved one would want included. Prepare for the eventuality by writing your own and leaving behind the story you’d like told.

We’ll go over why obituaries are important, some old and recent obituaries of the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly variety, and the must-have information they should contain for the future genealogist of your family (or struggling database curator!).
