You may have seen the recent social media update, or the widget on the website and it’s true… We have a new way to take one-time donations and recurring pledge amounts for the building project. I selected Zeffy as the platform for these donations because we get 100% of the donations! That’s right, all of it is given to us. No card or hidden fees passed along to us.
Another perk to online donations is that you’ll receive a tax receipt immediately to your e-mail! Because yes –your donations are tax deductible!
To help enable Zeffy to keep their platform free, there is an option to add a “tip”, which helps them to cover their overhead costs.
You can also now see our fundraising progress on the main page of our website. The thermometer style widget currently includes our starting funds, as of when the Flexible Facilities Grant amount was announced, and the donations we have received since then. We will continue to include cash, check, grants, etc., as we receive them. Your online donations should be reflected more quickly.
I would also like to take a moment to thank a few businesses that have donated so far to our capital campaign:
Woodman’s Market: $500
T & J Concrete: $500
Kwik Trip Kares: $2000
I will have exciting news soon about another grant that we have applied for, after we have the paperwork squared away! Needless to say –we are making great strides toward our goal!
In other building news, construction bids are now open. Our construction crew will be selected near the end of the month, with approximately 3 weeks to finalize contracts and grant paperwork. We are on track for our groundbreaking to happen on, or before, July 1st as stipulated.
I, for one, cannot wait to share the updated renderings and virtual walk-through clips with you all. Jessie, and our team at Cedar Corporation, have done an amazing job in bringing the concept design to life. I am already anxiously anticipating all of the amazing things we’ll be able to do in our new spaces! Stay tuned.
