It’s happening! Cadott will have a brand new, fully accessible public library, mostly funded by the Flexible Facilities Program Grant. The building will feature two small conference rooms, adult and children’s reading areas, a computer lab, improved staff workspace and a large multipurpose room with a kitchenette. Per the grant timeline, construction will begin this coming summer and must be completed by September of 2026.
Receiving this grant is a dream come true for our small community.  The long-term goal of Library Trustees has been to acquire an accessible library without increasing the community tax burden. After twenty years of research and planning, we are finally able to move forward with the project.
There are stipulations and requirements for this grant. The library must provide high speed internet connection, along with programs and materials which support community education, employment and health maintenance. These services have been incorporated into our building plans and will be provided on a continuing basis.
While the grant will fund most of our project, many expenses will not be covered by this grant. Among these are: bringing high speed internet to the building site, increased monthly internet subscription costs, grant writing, additional required audit expenses, moving costs, maintenance, and upkeep. To ensure that the new library will serve this community for many years to come, the Library Trustees and Building Committee are seeking financial support through donations, grants, and memorials. In the future other fund-raising projects will be explored, as well.
